Weight Loss Tips for the Winter
Weight Loss Tips for the Winter:
Weight loss in summer can be easier. The weather is warmer so you usually spend more time outside. This time is often spent going on walks or other outdoor activities. All this extra time moving around, no matter how little actual movement is involved all helps you achieve your weight loss goal.
The warm wealth also makes it easier to eat cold foods such as salad or fruit, replacing a fatty hot alternative. The warmer weather and longer daylight hours also makes it easier for you to work out
As winter comes around the opposite happens. Cold weather, shorter days and time spent indoors on the warm sofa means any lose in summer can soon be put back on. But winter doesn’t have to mean you gain weight, you can still enjoy the colder months and get slimmer.
Watch what you eat:
In summer you may have been swapping that cooling ice cream for a piece of fruit or that sugary carbonated drink for water so let this continue in winter. Your hot chocolate could be a green tea for example. Fruit can be grilled to add some heat into your dessert or snack. Grilled Red Peppers also make a tasty snack.
Stay in the pool:
If you use an indoor swimming pool in summer don’t stop in winter. Make sure you dry thoroughly after each swim and wear a hat a gloves to stop the heat escaping your body. Swimming is great exercise and if you enjoy it don’t stop just because it’s a little colder outside.
Put down the alcohol
There is around 300 calories in the average pint of lager and 200 calories in a glass of wine. Just 2-3 of those a day can make up 25-33% of your daily calorie allowance. Swapping this for a green tea or fruit juice is much more beneficial, maybe not as fun! But still it’s better for you.
Drink Water
Not only does water keep you hydrated, it helps the digestion work well and helps you feel full. Perhaps not as enjoyable as a natural fruit juice, water is easily obtainable for most of us and quite refreshing. Many people now drink warm water instead of tea and coffee.
Keep warm, move!
Movement generates heat which keeps you warm. Get a safe secure mat and march on the spot while watching TV. If you have the budget and room for an exercise bike or rowing machine then give that a go. Do whatever you can while feeling comfortable and keeping warm.
